Barista (Seasonal - Winter 26/27)
About the role
Position Title: Winter Seasonal Barista Reports to: Café Supervisor / Clock Tower Coffee Manager Wage: $19.50/ph Position: Seasonal Contract October – Early April / Hourly Position
Position Overview: The Winter Seasonal Barista is responsible for preparing high-quality coffee and espresso beverages while delivering friendly, fast and consistent guest service in a high-volume café setting within a mountain resort. Baristas are expected to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere, maintain cleanliness and efficiency and contribute to smooth café operations.
Experience and Requirements:
- Minimum of 1-2 year’s barista or café experience in a fast-paced setting.
- Strong working knowledge of espresso machines, grinders and drink creations
- Ability to steam milk, dial in espresso and maintain beverage consistency.
- Comfortable using POS systems (Toast or similar).
- Knowledge of standard café operations, cleanliness protocols, and guest flow management.
- Excellent communication and guest interaction skills.
- Previous experience in a ski resort or seasonal café is an asset.
Key Responsibilities but not limited to:
- Prepare and serve a wide range of hot and cold beverages to standard.
- Provide friendly and knowledgeable counter service to all guests.
- Handle high-volume rushes while maintaining speed and accuracy.
- Maintain clean and organized workstations; including espresso bar and prep areas.
- Restock café supplies and assist with inventory rotation.
- Process orders accurately and handle cash/card transactions.
- Complete opening, mid and closing duties as assigned.
- Assist in training new baristas and upholding café quality standards.
- Ensure food safety, sanitation and workplace safety practices are followed.
Working Conditions:
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, weekends and holidays.
- Ability to remain on feet for long periods of time.
- Must be able to lift 25lbs and perform repetitive motions such as grinding, steaming and cleaning.
- Being safe whilst being exposed to hot surfaces, steam and a fast-paced environment.
- Outdoor travel between venues may be required in snowy/winter conditions.

- Food Safe Level 1 certification is an advantage.
