Hope Christian School is seeking a passionate and dedicated High School English Teacher to join our team in a full-time position. The successful candidate will design and deliver engaging, inquiry-based English Language Arts instruction for high school students, including English 10-1, English 20-1, English 30-1, and selected option courses. This role requires creating dynamic learning experiences that promote student success in both synchronous and asynchronous learning environments. Responsibilities include facilitating interactive online lessons primarily through Zoom, utilizing features such as breakout rooms and polling; developing and managing course content, assessments, and grading within the Canvas Learning Management System; providing timely, data-informed feedback to support student growth; managing digital classroom operations; collaborating with colleagues to ensure curriculum alignment; and maintaining proactive, Christ-centered communication with students and families to foster a supportive faith-based learning community.
This is a full time (1.0 FTE) probationary position to commence the first day of the 2026-2027 school year. Applicants must hold a Bachelor of Education (Secondary) with a Major in English and possess a valid Alberta Teaching Certificate (Interim or Permanent). The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience implementing the Alberta Program of Studies and Teaching Quality Standard (TQS) in both synchronous and asynchronous settings. Proficiency with Zoom and the Canvas LMS is considered a strong asset.
