The purpose of these positions is to provide administrative support services within various government departments and Health PEI. These positions require a high degree of accuracy as well as a high level of skill in time management, organization and interpersonal abilities. Candidates must be successful in an administrative support testing process.
Duties may include:
- Performing administrative support services with a high degree of accuracy;
- Receiving incoming calls, arranging appointments and making appropriate referrals;
- Performing word processing duties including typing and/or drafting correspondence, reports, memos, letters, etc;
- Handling incoming and outgoing correspondence and telephone calls;
- Performing data entry;
- Maintaining accurate and updated records and file systems;
- Assisting in the preparation of budgets and related documents;
- Other related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Applicants must have completed Grade 12 supplemented by a diploma from a recognized Office Studies program.
- This is a bilingual position. Advanced oral proficiency in English and French is required.
- Demonstrated equivalencies will be considered.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills, as well as considerable knowledge and skills in Word processing and computer applications.
- Must have typing speed of 40 wpm.
- Must have a good previous attendance and work record;
Other Qualifications:
- Additional relevant education and experience will be considered and asset.
- The successful applicant must provide a satisfactory Criminal Records Check prior to beginning employment.
The list is primarily used for short‑term weekday assignments but may also be used to fill longer‑term vacancies.
