Buffalo Trail Public Schools is excited to offer a part-time Kindergarten teaching opportunity at Provost Public School beginning August 26, 2026 through June 29, 2027. Specific Position Details
Start Date: August 26, 2026
End Date: June 29, 2027
Location: Provost Public School – Provost, Alberta
Assignment: Kindergarten (Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays)
Contract Type: Probationary, Part-Time
FTE: 0.56
Specific Position Duties
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- A strong understanding of early childhood development and the ability to design developmentally appropriate learning experiences that support the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth of young learners
- The ability to create nurturing, inclusive, and responsive learning environments that foster a sense of belonging and promote positive relationships with students and families
- Experience using observation, documentation, and assessment to inform instruction, monitor developmental progress, and collaborate with families and support teams to respond to individual student needs
Qualifications and General Duties
The successful candidate will possess:
- A valid Alberta Teaching Certificate
- A student-centred philosophy committed to maximizing student learning in a safe and caring environment
- Experience and/or training in Assessment for Learning, including formative and summative assessment practices
- Proficiency with Google Workspace for Education and educational technology to support communication, collaboration, and student learning
- The ability to foster positive relationships and create a strong sense of belonging for students
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team
- A demonstrated commitment to professional growth and reflective practice aligned with the Alberta Teaching Quality Standard
- A willingness to contribute to extracurricular opportunities and the broader school community would be considered an asset
