About the role
The Project Manager plays a key role in the delivery of Cost Estimating products using cost estimating, standards, norms, analytics and reporting, engineering, contracts, legal, planning, scheduling and program management elements across ISI programs and industry partners to achieve outcomes. Working with the Manager, Cost Management, the Project Manager will be responsible for the delivery of key strategic activities as well as the development and maintenance of Estimating tools and databases with the goal of increasing automation for greater consistency and productivity.

Review and oversee project activities, factoring risks, achieved performance and other variables to manage performance. Perform analysis that aims at achieving project outcomes and contributing to the overall project success.

Apply various tools (e.g. Microsoft Excel, Primavera P6, SQL, Tableau, Alteryx, Python) to accomplish project goals.

Engage productively with project & leadership team members. Identify, resolve & escalate issues, gain consensus through effective communication, and collaborate successfully across the organization.

Deliver project updates to leadership teams as required on a weekly, monthly & quarterly basis.

Document, communicate and monitor procedures.

Apply and promote project management best practices with an emphasis on planning, execution and change management.

Develop and deliver new reporting formats and methods to match the needs of an evolving project scope.

5-8 years years experience including project management, strategy & governance, change management, developing technology-based solutions.

Experience in shipbuilding, construction or manufacturing is an asset.

Bachelors’ degree with a focus on project management, business administration, accounting, finance, engineering, or computer science/programming.

Excellent communication skills (email and verbal) with an ability to engage all levels of stakeholders within the organization and external contacts.

Presentation and public speaking.

Situational Leadership – guiding discussion and facilitating meetings to successful outcomes.
Due to the nature of work Irving Shipbuilding does, all successful applicants must meet requirements for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
Please note this position requires a full-time, in-office presence.
