About the role
As the Team Lead of Financial Transactions, you’ll drive fast, accurate processing for internal and external customers while overseeing the Company's weekly payments and annual cash and investment profile. Working closely with cross‑functional teams, you’ll identify opportunities to streamline processes, strengthen controls, and elevate the billing function.
You’ll lead and coach multiple teams, provide direct guidance to your staff, and confidently resolve complex issues as they arise. You’ll also own weekly cash reporting and help ensure our financial operations run smoothly and efficiently.

Lead, review, and approve Progress Claims to Canada, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and contract compliance.

Ensure the health of ISI’s annual cash and investment profile, working closely with Claims, Accounts Payable, and Treasury (weekly).

Maintain cash flow models and forecasting, providing insights to enhance financial planning and decision-making.

Provide training, support, and ongoing development to Claims Team members, including setting objectives, monitoring progress, and making decisions on non-routine transactions.

Identify opportunities to streamline and enhance claims and billing processes, leading cross-functional collaboration to design, test, and implement improvements.

Partner with Supply Chain by offering coaching on processes and systems and assisting in the resolution of specific issues.

Support Financial Planning & Analysis and Financial Reporting & Analysis by supplying timely progress claim data and related reporting.

Respond to customer inquiries by providing accurate, timely information.

Produce ad hoc reporting to support program needs as they arise.

Post-secondary degree with major in accounting, or equivalent education will be considered. -CPA designation required(or relevant experience will be considered).

4 to 7 years of relevant work experience in a similar role or work environment.

Skilled in Microsoft Office suite and financial modelling.

Experience with complex billings (government, defense, construction, milestone, or progress).

Experience with cash forecasting.

Ability to communicate complex financial matters clearly to varied internal and external stakeholders.

Ability to influence stakeholders from other departments with competing priorities.

Demonstrated ability to lead a team in a complex environment.
Due to the nature of work Irving Shipbuilding does, all successful applicants must meet requirements for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
Please note this position requires a full-time, in-office presence.
