Yes Capital specializes in alternative lending solutions for residential and commercial clients across Atlantic Canada. Join our growing team and be part of an organization committed to supporting both our employees and the communities we serve. We are currently looking for a Credit Analyst to join our team.
Reporting to the VP, Alternative Lending, the Credit Analyst plays a critical role in supporting the Yes Capital team by providing comprehensive financial, credit, risk, and security analysis for commercial lending opportunities. The incumbent is responsible for accurately inputting and maintaining financial data, conducting detailed assessments of credit requests, and compiling thorough and well-supported credit application packages to facilitate sound lending decisions.

You would…
- Support the Lending Team in the analysis, document collection, adjudication support, and ongoing monitoring of commercial credit facilities, ensuring full compliance with Yes Capital’s lending policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and member service.
- Evaluate applicants’ creditworthiness by analyzing financial statements, tax returns, cash flow, credit history, account performance, business income sustainability, and security valuations to determine feasibility of new credit requests, renewals, and amendments.
- Conduct comprehensive reviews of collateral, including real estate valuations, PPSA registrations, and other secured assets. Assess financial projections, cost estimates, environmental factors, and industry trends to support credit decisions for new loans, refinances, and annual reviews of complex or large exposures.
- Partner with the Lending Team to complete annual portfolio reviews, covenant monitoring, and risk management activities to maintain the quality and performance of the Yes Capital loan portfolio.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client and related borrower information, including debt balances, credit structures, and security valuations, ensuring data integrity across all systems.
- Obtain and review supporting documentation such as credit bureau reports, property searches, PPSA reports, and other due diligence materials. Provide commentary and highlight potential risks or concerns.
- Prepare, analyze, and submit internal and regulatory reports as required, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support the overall objectives and operational effectiveness of the Yes Capital Lending Team.
You have…
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- A minimum of three years of experience in business/commercial banking or CPA with business financial statement preparation background may also fit; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience.
You are…
- Experienced analyzing financial statements and conducting credit assessments.
- Able to demonstrate a solid understanding of financial statements, cash flow analysis, rental income evaluation, and other key financial metrics used to assess creditworthiness.
