About the role
**Term of Appt:**April 23 - June 26, 2026 (6 hours/week)

**Reporting to:**Associate Dean of AcademicVocational Programs
Salary:
$47.83 – 56.75 per hour depending on experience and qualifications, as per the BCGEU Faculty Collective Agreement. Temporary employees receive an additional 2% in lieu of benefits, 6% vacation and 4.2% statutory holiday pay, paid each pay period. Optional enrolment in the College Pension Plan is available, with employer-matched contributions.
Description:
The Early Childhood Education and Care (ECE) program is seeking an instructor to deliver ECEC 100 – Curriculum 1 via video conference during Intersession 2026.
In this course, students will study children's explorations throughout early childhood curriculum areas to understand how play enhances children's learning and development. Students will develop beginning competencies in documentation, responsive planning and play space design.
Travel between the Dawson Creek and Fort St. John campuses is required.
Class Schedule: Thursdays, 1:15 – 4:15 pm
Qualifications:
Required:
- Master's degree in Early Care and Learning or a closely related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A bachelor's degree may be considered based on relevant applied experiences.
- Early Childhood EducationCare (ECEC) Diploma, including Infant/Toddler and Special Needs Educator certification from the BC ECE Registry (or proof of eligibility for certification).
- 3-5 years' experience working in a licensed Early Care and Learning Centre.
- Valid driver's license
- Working knowledge of the BC Early Learning Framework.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated committed to student motivation and success.
- Ability to collaborate effectively as a team member.
Preferred:
- Instructional experience in a comparable or related post-secondary program.
- Working knowledge of the BC Education Plan.
- Working knowledge of Child Care Licensing legislation and the role of the BC Ministry of Children Development's ECE Registry.
- Membership in the Early Childhood Educators of BC.
- Completion of the BCcampus – Facilitating Online Learning (FLO) workshop (or equivalent).
- Experience instructing a culturally diverse group of students, including Indigenous and international students.
