Devereaux Elementary School
Devereaux Elementary School is a small rural school located 15 minutes west of Dawson Creek, in the community of Arras. The school has approximately 80 students and 13 staff members, fostering a close-knit community atmosphere.
Most students ride the bus to and from school and either live on farms or embrace a rural lifestyle. Students have access to a variety of activities, including volleyball and basketball teams, an outdoor skating rink on school property, snowshoeing, swimming, gymnastics, and trips for downhill skiing and snowboarding.
Many students, parents, and staff have lived in the area for years, some even for generations, which contributes to a strong sense of community within the school. The caring environment at Devereaux Elementary School is our greatest asset.
Students learn, assist, and play together, regardless of their age or grade level. It is common to see Kindergarten through Grade 7 students playing soccer and Four Square together. Our older students take on active roles in leadership, exemplifying citizenship, helpfulness, kindness, and acceptance. Care and community are the foundation of Devereaux Elementary School.
