Role Overview 1.0 FTE- Days Starting Rate $16.30 A Hospitality Aide plays a vital role in supporting the daily life and well-being of residents in a senior living or healthcare community. This role focuses on assisting with meal service, housekeeping, and resident engagement in activities, fostering a positive and comfortable environment. By building meaningful relationships and honoring each resident’s individuality, the Hospitality Aide helps create a home where residents feel valued, engaged, and connected. Key Accountabilities Assist with meal service by setting up, serving, and cleaning dining areas while ensuring mealtimes are an enjoyable and social experience for residents. Preparing and providing appropriate texture modified meals and dietary requirements Supporting mealtime service to residents as required by fostering a warm and inviting dining experience. Cleaning and maintaining kitchen equipment daily Maintaining environmental public health standards and provincial standards for regulatory bodies Participating in community committees and working groups to support community initiatives Maintain cleanliness and organization of dining and common areas. May require assistance in the cleaning of resident rooms. Provide non-clinical support to residents, helping with mobility and participation in activities. Engage with residents to build positive relationships and encourage socialization by listening to their stories, honoring their experiences, and creating moments of joy. Follow safety and hygiene standards, ensuring compliance with community policies. Collaborate with staff to report residents' needs and concerns while advocating for their personal preferences and comfort. Ensure the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as necessary. Required Education & Documentation High school diploma or equivalent (preferred but not mandatory). Food Safety Handling Certificate (such as ServSafe or Food Safe) required. Required Skills Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with residents and staff. Compassion, patience, and a service-oriented mindset. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Organizational skills to ensure efficient operations in dining and community areas. Ability to work collaboratively within a team. Additional Preferred Education and Skills Asset Prior experience in senior living, hospitality, or food service is beneficial but not required. CPR or First Aid Certification is a plus. WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System) training is beneficial for handling cleaning chemicals.
