Wood is recruiting for a Project Engineer with a background in Electrical / Instrumentation to join our Canada Projects business delivering some of the world's boldest and most critical projects. This opportunity is Hybrid.

The Role Wood is currently seeking a Project Engineer to join our team in Edmonton, AB. The role will assist with overall project engineering management for the delivery of projects in terms of cost, schedule, technical conformance, HSSEA (Health, Safety, Security, Environment & Assurance), quality, ensure compliance with company procedures, support delivery of engineering excellence through coordination of single discipline engineering deliverables.

Please note this role is local to Edmonton. Responsibilities

• Coordinate multi discipline input to engineering deliverables including Process/Utility Flow Diagrams, Engineering Flow Diagrams and, Line Lists, Equipment Lists, Special Piping Item Lists and Requisition Index.
• Coordinate input of single engineering discipline within multiple office locations
• Plan individual work activities and manage time; liaise with disciplines to ensure timely receipt of comments.
• Follow and deliver against project engineering manhour budget and schedule requirements
• Report on progress issues to facilitate resolution
• Alert more senior project engineering personnel in the event of potential delays or changes
• Design Verification: Participate in design reviews to learn requirements and follow up on actions
• Change Management: Support implementation of approved changes
• People Management: Coordinate work of small team of technical professionals in the delivery of project engineering deliverables; communicate with line managers

Expected

• Registration as a P. Eng. is mandatory with 4 to 7 years of broad experience in Oil, Gas & Chemicals projects and a background in electrical / instrumentation engineering
• Must possess a high degree of originality, skill, and proficiency in the various broad phases of engineering application and knowledge of quality management
• Eligibility for registration in the USA will be considered an asset but is not required.
• Authorization to lawfully work in Canada without sponsorship from Wood now or in the future is required
