Your Opportunity:
Red Deer Regional Hospital Pharmacy is seeking a highly motivated and clinically skilled pharmacist to join our multidisciplinary team as an Infectious Disease & Antimicrobial Stewardship Pharmacist. This role is central to advancing safe, effective, and evidence-based antimicrobial use across our hospital and improving patient outcomes.
This clinical assignment is part of a multiple pharmacist rotation that includes an outpatient infectious disease clinic, an inpatient infectious disease consult service, a Central Zone Antimicrobial Stewardship program, and dispensary coverage.
As a member of the Central Zone Pharmacy Services team, you support the team in continually striving for our purpose, we get to deliver an exceptional medication experience. Description:
As a Pharmacist I, you will be responsible for the safe, effective and efficient preparation and distribution of pharmaceutical services. You will manage medication therapy for patients, both initially and on an ongoing basis.
In addition, you will provide assessment, intervention and resolution of potential or actual drug-related problems and oversee activities related to compounding and packaging.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP). Additional prescribing authorization (or obtained within 1 year).
Preferred Qualifications:
Hospital pharmacy residency. Active hospital experience in a direct patient care role caring for patients with infectious disease related comorbidities. Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently, demonstrating accountability and ability to maintain collaborative and respectful relationships. Demonstration of ability to learn and grow in response to personal reflection and external feedback. Advanced training or certification in ID/Antimicrobial Stewardship.
