YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

Reporting to the Senior Exploration Geologist you will be part of the Exploration Department. You will be responsible to provide geological support to the exploration team that will focus on logging exploration drill holes using current software. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.

• Assist in assuring the quality control and quality assurance of samples;
• Monitor and evaluating geological and assay data quality;
• Ensure geological data is collected to specified standards and QA/QC protocol is followed;
• Complete field visits to drill sits to check drill site locations and ensure drill and exploration programs are conducted to high standards and samples are collected and transported to the assay lab efficiently;
• Assist with directing and coordinating employees assigned with consistent Company policies, procedures and standards;
• Assist with completing weekly KPI’s, including assigned drillhole tracking and core logging related tasks;
• Monitor the work and performance of core technicians.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

• Bachelor’s Degree in an Earth Science program, or Bachelors of Science;
• Must either have a membership as a Professional Geologist in Province of Ontario (P.Geo) or be eligible for and working towards a professional accreditation in geology in Ontario;
• Minimum one to three years of experience working in an open pit, underground mining or exploration field;
• Experience core logging using standard geological software;
• Class G Driver’s License is required;
• Experience using and/or interpreting various types of geological data in a GIS (ArcGIS or Map Info) platform for exploration applications;
• Experience using DHLogger an asset; - Strong computer and data management skills;
• High safety standard;
• Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.

YOUR WORK SCHEDULE:

• Schedule: 14/14 schedule at our Detour Lake Mine;
• Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides transportation to and from the mine site and will according to your location of residence in Canada.

Compensation Statement

In accordance with applicable legislation, the expected compensation includes base salary and potential bonus opportunity. Your individual pay will reflect your skills and experience while remaining competitive within the local market.
