About the role
ABOUT THE ROLE
Fort McKay First Nation is looking for an enthusiastic and positive individual to support and engage with our youth. The Fitness Attendant ensures a safe and enjoyable Fitness Centre experience for guests. This position is intended to create meaningful employment opportunities for our youth.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
-
Perform guest admittance checks.
-
Monitor guest safety and adherence to Fitness Centre’s policies and rules.

Prevent injuries by providing public education and responding appropriately when first aid treatment and/or emergency response is required.

Monitor fitness center areas for safety and general cleanliness. Immediately rectify any unclean or potentially hazardous conditions in a proactive nature, whenever possible.

Help assist with set ups, take downs, and safely store equipment in a timely and cooperative manner.

General cleaning and maintaining of the Fitness Centre facility and equipment.

Provides exceptional service to Fitness Centre users.

Attend all required training.

Coach and mentor new staff.

Perform other related duties as required.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
-
Between the ages of 18-22 Years Old
-
Previous experience in fitness and recreation operations or a similar role is an asset.

Fort McKay First Nation (FMFN), located along the banks of the Athabasca River in the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo north of Fort McMurray. There are approximately 800 Dene, Cree and Métis community members living in Fort McKay. The FMFN shares a border with the Fort McKay Métis Community and together we call Fort McKay home.
