E&I – Technician Turnaround
Our Offer to You:
**Site:**North of Fort McMurray, – Camp accommodations are provided for non-locals travelling to Fort McMurray. Preference is given to local candidates along with a $750 monthly Local Incentive Allowance.
**Schedule:**11 days on 3 days off – subject to extended shifts and overtime during turnaround
**Travel:**Union Travel Benefits ($297 each way)
**Compensation:**As per the Union Collective agreement

Stuart Olson is seeking a for a dual ticketed (E&I) Journeyperson Technician to join turnaround team north to support our turnaround team, troubleshooting, and commissioning activities across a Petro-Chemical facility north of Fort McMurray. The successful person will be aUnion member. Preference is given to local candidates along with a $750 monthly Local Incentive Allowance.
Responsibilities
Instrumentation
- Interpret and apply ISA and API instrumentation installation standards.
- Perform calibrations, loop checks, and verification of control system devices.
- Measure, cut, and bend tubing for pneumatic control systems.
- Select, install, calibrate, and verify sensing, telemetering, and recording instrumentation.
- Develop specifications for nonstandard instrumentation apparatus based on engineering data.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on instrumentation test apparatus and peripheral equipment.
- Operate test equipment to simulate and record conditions such as vibration, stress, temperature, humidity, pressure, altitude, and acceleration.
- Analyze and convert test data into usable formats; prepare graphs and written reports.
- Use computerized equipment and software for testing, trending, and data analysis.
- Troubleshoot PLC/SIS control systems (shared discipline).
Electrical:

Qualifications
- Journeyperson Dual Ticketed E&
- Industrial maintenance experience working on a Petro-chemical facility is an asset.
- Compliance to site Pre-Access Drug and Alcohol testing
- Valid driver’s license and current driver abstract.

- ESC Confined Space
- ESC AWP – an asset
Working Conditions
- CSA approved steel-toed safety boots will be required.
- Working both indoors and outdoors in hot and wintry weather conditions; in and around noise and dust
- Coveralls, safety glasses/goggles, hard hat and gloves are provided.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs; occasionally lift items weighing more than 50 lbs. with assistance.
- Stand or walk for extended periods of time and able to climb up and down ladders, scaffolds, and other objects.
