We’re looking for a skilled Instrumentation Engineer to join us in supporting the assets at our Mackay River site. In this role, you’ll bring your expertise to guide our instrumentation strategy, provide trusted technical leadership, and help ensure our facilities run safely, reliably, and efficiently every day.

Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering, or a related Engineering Technology discipline
- Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or eligible for membership with APEGA, or a Professional Licensee (Engineering) with an instrumentation scope of practice
- 5-10 years of instrumentation engineering experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, mining, or heavy industrial settings
- Skilled in RCFA, RCM methodologies and MOC processes
- Proficient in Risk Assessment, PHAs, HAZOPs and LOPAs
- A valid driver's licence

Responsibilities:
- Provide technical guidance, support, and subject‑matter expertise to the Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) maintenance team, including troubleshooting and issue resolution
- Monitor the performance of instrumentation systems, identify reliability concerns, and recommend optimization initiatives to improve system integrity and uptime
- Manage spare parts strategies and maintain accurate Master Data (SBOMs, BOMs, material masters, and OCCs)
- Develop and prepare construction work packages for equipment replacements, modifications, and system upgrades
- Lead investigations related to E&I events and support incident management and root‑cause analysis activities
- Participate in annual Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) and act as the primary instrumentation focal point throughout the process
- Support the development of maintenance and reliability strategies, assessing feasibility and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance overall productivity

Hours of work are 40 hour work week, Monday to Thursday (6:30am – 4:30pm) 10hrs/day; extended hours may be required based on business needs and turnaround support

If you reside outside of Fort McMurray, relocation of your primary residence to within 60 km of Fort McMurray is mandatory. Relocation support will be provided; we offer competitive housing assistance to eligible individuals
