Expressions of Interest – Occupational Therapist
About the role
School District 60 (Peace River North) is seeking expressions of interest from qualified Occupational Therapists to provide contract services within the school setting.
Services will commence September 2026 and will continue up to and including June 26, 2027.
Occupational Therapists assist students in achieving success and independence in their school environment by supporting their participation in learning and daily routines. These services may include, but are not limited to:
- Assess fine motor, sensory-motor, and self regulation needs that impact student learning
- Recommend and implement adaptive or assistive equipment to improve access to curriculum and school environments
- Collaborate with school based teams to integrate strategies into the classroom
- Provide training and consultation to school staff to promote inclusion and independence
- Ability to provide mentor training to staff to carry out routines and programs that may be designed to improve fine motor function, sensory integration, sensory processing, self-regulation and functional motor skills for optimal participation of students in classroom settings during the school day
- Monitoring and ongoing evaluation of students in classroom settings related to Occupational Therapy
- Skills to develop and implement individual/group programs in areas such as social skills, self-esteem, anger management, bullying, anxiety, etc.
