Position Description
A temporary part time (0.7) Kindergarten (0.2)/English Language Learning Teacher (0.5) Teacher is required by School District No. 60 (Peace River North) effective September 1, 2026 until the return of incumbent but not beyond June 30, 2027. The assignment will be at Anne Roberts Young Elementary School. ** **
Qualifications and Experience
- Valid BC Ministry of Education Teaching Certificate (or eligible for)
- Committed to a co-planning model within a learning "pod" of three to four divisions
- Willingness to share space and resources in a learning "pod" of three to fur divisions within a flexible learning space environment
- Qualifications and demonstrated ability to teach the identified subjects at the elementary years level
- Experience with universal design and differentiation to meet the diverse needs of students
- Excellent interpersonal, communications, collaboration and organization skills
- Experience/training/knowledge of Social Emotional Learning. Demonstrated ability to create a positive classroom community contributing to a safe, caring, and healthy school where every student feels a sense of belonging
- Strong belief in the philosophy of inclusion and the potential of all students to learn
- Understanding of the BC Curriculum and ability to plan both short-term and long-term in consideration of class composition
- Willingness to work in a collaborative model with staff on the foundation of enhancing student learning
- Demonstrated use of classroom management practices that are pro-active and maintain student dignity
- Demonstrated use of assessment practices that promote student learning and maintain student dignity
- Masters in Special Education or working towards would be an asset
- Familiarity with interpretation and administration of norm referenced and criterion referenced assessments
- Ability to write, implement and evaluate IEP's at the elementary school level
- Ability/expertise to collaborate with classroom teachers and team-teach when warranted
- Commitment to pursue professional development in special education
- Willingness to work collaboratively with the Learning Services department and school administration
- Training in teaching ELL students
- Willingness to work and implement school initiatives and goals into classroom
- Experience/training/knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)
- Collaboration and working with a team
- Ability to use performance standards in the all areas
- Strong computer related skills and an ability to integrate technology into the learning environment
- Experience or willingness to work with in a Project Based Learning environment
- Committed to individualized and group instruction utilizing a variety of effective strategies and techniques

Anne Roberts Young Elementary School was designed and built to facilitate a distinct learning environment. This process involved visitations to schools around the country, community consultation meetings and several design meetings with a cross-section of staff from around the district. These conversations on learning and learning spaces helped shape the architecture of the school.

Compensation
- $2000 relocation allowance for teachers from BC, AB and Yukon and up to $4000 for teachers from other areas
- $3,500 recruitment allowance (paid over 10 months of the school year, based on the FTE)
- Salary as per collective agreement. Current salary grid is $72,720 - $118,770
- Benefits as per collective agreement with option to enroll in medical, dental, extended health, and group life insurance. Benefits are employer paid based on FTE
- Please note that part-time teachers may be required to attend Pro-D or other non-instructional days on days when they are not regularly scheduled to work
