About Mount Milligan Mine
Located approximately 155 kilometres northwest of Prince George in central BC, the Mount Milligan Mine is a conventional truck-shovel open-pit copper and gold mine and concentrator with a 60,000 tpd capacity copper flotation processing plant.
Mount Milligan operates with comfortable camp accommodations equipped with private washrooms, TV, Wi-Fi, an onsite gym, and other recreational activities. Bus transportation to and from site is provided free of charge from several locations within the region.
Mount Milligan promotes a drug and alcohol-free workplace and has adopted a zero-tolerance policy with respect to alcohol or unauthorized drugs on site.
About The Opportunity
The Technician, Mill Training is responsible for the development, delivery, and sustainment of training programs for both fixed plant and mobile equipment within the mill operations circuit. This includes ownership of circuit-specific training for SAG and downstream processes, ensuring operators are trained, competent, and compliant with site standards and best practices.
The role is accountable for coordinating, delivering, and following up on training requests, while maintaining accurate training records and documentation within the site systems. The Trainer ensures workforce compliance with operational, safety, and procedural requirements, and works closely with mill leadership to align training priorities with operational needs.
This position plays a key role in building workforce capability through continuous improvement of training materials, structured follow-up, and verification of competency to support safe, consistent, and efficient mill performance.
Key Responsibilities
Training Delivery & Execution
Deliver safety, environmental, and operational training programs. Conduct training to ensure personnel are competent, authorized, and qualified.
Training Needs Analysis & Coordination
Assess training needs and coordinate delivery with crews, supervisors, and management. Ensure training content is accurate, relevant, and aligned with workforce requirements.
Training Development & Continuous Improvement
Develop, maintain, and revise training materials, SOPs, and assessment tools to reflect current operating practices. Support continuous improvement initiatives related to training and workforce development.
Competency Verification & Validation
Validate operator competency through follow‑up and field verification.
Reporting & Records Management
Maintain detailed and accurate training records, including programs and certifications. Provide feedback and reporting to management on training effectiveness.
Safety Leadership
Promote and maintain a strong safety culture through training and engagement.
Working Conditions
Camp-based role working 12-hour days on a 14 day on/14 day off rotation, with accommodation provided during rotation. Exposure to indoor/outdoor environments, heavy equipment, noise, and moving parts. PPE always required. Safety-sensitive environment with zero-tolerance drug and alcohol policy. Bus transportation provided from regional locations.
About You
Post‑secondary education in Mineral Processing, Metallurgy, Mining Engineering Technology, or a related discipline, preferred. Strong knowledge of mill processing operations, including: Crushing (primary and secondary) Grinding (SAG and ball mill) Flotation Dewatering Gravity separation Reagents and tailings operations Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Experience working with PDF documentation and editing tools (e.g., Adobe Acrobat). Experience with Distributed Control Systems (DCS) such as DeltaV or similar platforms. Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) for training delivery, tracking, and compliance (e.g., SAP SuccessFactors or similar). Familiarity with British Columbia mining safety regulations. Understanding of training compliance requirements within a mining or processing environment. About The Benefits
