The Position

The successful candidate will take charge of the drafting and drawing side of the organization and elevate it to a highly professional level. You will handle the day-to-day execution of design functions in our Abbotsford location. You must have the capacity and willingness to learn the physics of hydraulics, the power of water, and how these principles dictate irrigation design.

Key Deliverables

· Create clean, professional formats, and artistic renderings that will be used to pitch and win project presentations · Produce detailed structural drawings, complete with precise material take-offs and steel cut lists to physically build steel structures · Generate accurate, practical field drawings using specialized software such IRRICAD or comparable design software applications · Connect all drawings directly to business operations by linking design components to item numbers and parts listings · Create organized MS Excel documents to accurately track and show project profitability

Qualifications

· Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Technology, Industrial Design, or related field (or equivalent experience) · At least 3 to 5+ years’ experience in mechanical design, drafting, technical management, and/or engineering leadership roles · Proficiency in AutoCAD, Inventor Professional, and/or irrigation design software platforms · Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and product development · Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills · Experience in the irrigation industry is an asset or the ability to quickly understand what our industry entails
