PositionOverview
The Nisga'a School District is seeking a Physical and Health Education Teacher to work with students at Nisga'a Secondary School. The assignment is primarily focused on Physical and Health Education programming; however, additional courses may be assigned based on student enrollment and school needs. The role is carried out within a learning environment grounded in culture, community, and connection to the land and includes contributing to reconciliation through respectful integration of Nisga'a and Indigenous perspectives in teaching and learning, supported through collaboration, professional learning, and relationships with community.
KeyResponsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver instruction aligned with BC curriculum and learning standards
- Use assessment to inform instruction and support learner growth over time
- Create inclusive, safe, and engaging learning environments that support the wellbeing and success of all learners
- Build positive, respectful relationships with learners, families, and colleagues
- Engage in professional learning and collaborative practices to support effective teaching and learning
RequiredQualifications
- Valid BC Ministry of Education Teaching Certificate (or eligibility)
- Legally permitted to work in Canada
- Experience delivering instruction in Physical and Health Education
- Knowledge of the BC Curriculum, including learning standards and core competencies
