About the role
School District 60 (Peace River North) is seeking expressions of interest from qualified Speech and Language Pathologists to provide contract services within the school setting.
Services will commence September 2026 and will continue up to and including June 26, 2027.
Speech and Language Pathology is a professional health discipline primarily directed toward the Treatment for the improvement of communication disorders, including both speech problems and language disorders. Speech and Language Pathologists provide services to children with speech delays and disorders, language delays and disorder, fluency disorders, voice and resonance disorders, cognitive-communicative disorders, and other communication and swallowing disorders. These services may include, but are not limited to:
- screening/assessment;
- consultation for school staff/families;
- training of staff to carry out routines such as positioning, seating, feeding or motor activities for optimal maintenance of students in classroom settings during the school day; and
- monitoring and ongoing evaluation of students in classroom settings related to speech language therapy.
