Why This Role Exists

The Apprentice Technician role exists to develop future top-performing Technicians by providing hands-on training in both technical skills and customer service, supporting Canadoor’s commitment to quality and long-term growth.

What You’ll Do

Assist with residential and commercial garage door service and installations

Support Technicians on job sites while learning hands-on skills Prepare trucks with tools, materials, and parts required for daily work Travel to job sites and pick up parts from suppliers as needed Complete work orders and track time accurately using Canadoor’s systems Maintain clean, organized, and professional vehicles and job sites Follow all safety regulations, company policies, and traffic laws Communicate with team members and the office to ensure smooth operations

Reliable and accountable, you show up on time and ready to work

Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and sense of urgency Coachable and eager to learn and improve every day Hands-on and comfortable working in a physically active role Team-oriented with a positive attitude Takes pride in quality work and representing the company professionally

Qualifications

Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

Comfortable using hand and power tools (or willingness to learn) Strong communication and teamwork skills Comfortable working on ladders Comfortable speaking with customers and open to learning the sales side of the role Previous experience in construction, trades, customer service, or sales is an asset but not required Willingness to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment

What Success Looks Like

Within your first 6 months, you’ve developed the skills, confidence, and work ethic to transition into an independent Technician role, consistently delivering high-quality work, strong customer experiences, and sales results.

As you continue to grow, you begin contributing to revenue through both technical performance and customer interaction, with the opportunity for top performers to earn six figures as they advance and take ownership of their results.

Compensation

Starting at $20 per hour during the Apprentice training period, with clear opportunities for advancement as skills, performance, and responsibilities grow.
