Calabogie Peaks is a four-season country resort located on the shores of Calabogie Lake at the base of Dickson Mountain, 50 minutes from Ottawa. This boutique Hotel is part of the Ascend Collection by Choice, with 25 recently renovated rooms, each with distinct characteristics, and 30 one- to three-bedroom condo suites, all at the base of the tallest ski resort in the Ottawa Valley. CantHooks restaurant offers a curated menu for breakfast, lunch, and Dinner, along with a warm lobby bar. Calabogie Peaks Hotel is looking for an enthusiastic, experienced and proactive Front Desk Agent/Night Auditor Reporting to the Front Desk Supervisor or designated Job Type: Full-time and Part Time available.
Salary: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Hotel Front Desk Agent to join our team, as a Front Desk Agent, you will be the first point of contact for guests. Your main responsibilities include providing exceptional customer service, handling reservations, checking guests in and out, and assisting with guest inquiries and requests. This role is ideal for someone who is friendly, organized, and thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
Key Responsibilities
Greet and welcome guests in a warm and professional manner Check guests in and out efficiently, verifying identification and payment methods Answer phones, manage reservations, and respond to inquiries both in person and over the phone Process payments and maintain accurate records of guest accounts Resolve guest concerns promptly and effectively, escalating when necessary Provide local recommendations and information about hotel amenities and services Maintain cleanliness and organization at the front desk and lobby area Coordinate with housekeeping, maintenance, and other departments to ensure guest satisfaction Balance shift reports and complete required daily paperwork Follow hotel procedures and safety policies at all times Comply with all brand standards and exceed guests’ expectations Cover Night Audit when needed (11pm to 7am).
Qualifications
- Previous customer service or hospitality experience preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Comfortable with computers and hotel reservation software (training provided)
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Friendly, professional demeanor with a positive attitude
- Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays
- Must be able to stand for long periods and occasionally lift up to 25 lbs
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays
Working Conditions
Indoor work environment Standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods
Qualifications & Skills
Education: High School Diploma required; Post-secondary education is an asset Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a Hotel Front Desk Agent or similar.
Skills
Strong team working abilities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to multitask and handle high-pressure situations. Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills. Knowledge of PMS (Property Management System); knowledge of Choice platforms is an asset
