Position: Meteorologist for AI Model Training

Type: Contract Compensation: $45–$55/hour Role Responsibilities

• Interpret High-Resolution Rapid Refresh (HRRR) outputs at specific time steps.
• Identify key atmospheric features such as troughs, jet streaks, fronts, instability, and convection.
• Explain physical mechanisms driving observed conditions, including vorticity advection, lift, moisture transport, and upper-level divergence.
• Produce clear, structured, and technically accurate written explanations.
• Ensure all labels are grounded strictly in HRRR data without external references.

Qualifications Must-Have

• Degree in Meteorology / Atmospheric Science or 2+ years of operational forecasting experience.
• Strong synoptic and mesoscale analysis skills.
• Deep understanding of atmospheric dynamics and thermodynamics.
• Clear, precise technical writing ability.

Interview Process

• Behavioral interview focusing on forecast reasoning and decision-making.
• Short technical assessment involving 500 mb chart interpretation.
