THE OPPORTUNITY

The UGDSB is seeking a dynamic individual to join our Custodial team in the capacity oftemporary****Custodial Summer Studentfor Summer 2026. To be eligible for a student employment opportunity, you must be returning to full-time studies as a secondary or post-secondary student in September 2026. Proof of enrollment will be required.

**Location:**Guelph Area, Orangeville Area and North Wellington

**Hours:**40 hours per week

Hourly Pay Rate:$18.50 per hour, plus applicable vacation pay in accordance with the ESA; wage rate effective September 1, 2025

Work Schedule:

Two Options:

• May 4, 2026 until August 28, 2026

  (Note: Hours are 3: 30pm to 11: 30 pm from May until end of June. Schedules move to day shift for July and August.)

• July 2, 2026 to August 28, 2026 (day shift)

**Start Date:**May 4, 2026 or July 2, 2026

**End Date:**August 28, 2026

**Vacancy Status:**Seasonal Student Position - Summer 2026 (10 positions)

Reporting to the Custodial Manager, the responsibilities of theCustodial Summer Studentare as follows:

Responsibilities:

• Assist in summer cleaning in schools
• Movement of furniture, such as desks, chairs, filing cabinets and bookcases
• Washing and cleaning of floors, furniture, washrooms, windows and walls
• Vacuuming floors
• Trash removal, dusting and polishing
• Other duties as assigned

Experience and Qualifications:

• Must be enrolled full-time in a secondary or a post-secondary institution for September 2026
• Previous cleaning experience
• Vacuum and floor scrubbing equipment operation experience
• Furniture moving experience
• Floor refinishing experience
• Excellent communication and organizational skills coupled with the ability to work well in a team-based environment
• Access to a reliable method of transportation and ability to attend specific schools.
