Job Summary
The School of Health Sciences, operating with an MOU between Dalhousie University and Nova Scotia Health, provides educational programs for five regulated health professions: respiratory therapy, diagnostic medical ultrasound technology, radiological technology, MRI, and nuclear medicine technology. Reporting to the School Administrative Manager and working closely with the Program Coordinator/Advisor and the Admissions Committee, the Admissions and Program Assistant provides comprehensive admissions and student administrative support across the students’ program cycle.
Key Responsibilities

Coordinate admissions and recruitment activities, including application processing, committee support, communications, reporting, and participation in recruitment and outreach events.

Manage student records and track student progression from admission through graduation, keeping track of cohort lists, providing guidance on academic regulations, transfer credits, enrolment status, degree audits, and graduation eligibility.

Serve as the primary administrative resource for students, advisors, and academic administrators, responding to inquiries and liaising with the Registrar’s Office and other central units to resolve issues.

Provide administrative and logistical support to Admissions and Awards Committees, as well as to the academic regulations officer, including scheduling meetings, preparing agendas and minutes, processing waiver requests, maintaining records, and supporting policy-related processes.

Support awards, bursaries, and convocation activities by maintaining award data, verifying GPAs (Grade Point Average), assisting with selections, coordinating notifications and disbursements, and supporting recognition events.

Provide general and back‑up administrative support for School operations, including event coordination, reception and student services coverage, records management, and committee and faculty support as required.
Note
Due to operational requirements, the successful applicant is required to work in-person on campus.
Required Qualifications
-
Business/Administrative Professional program with approximately five years’ related experience (or an equivalent combination of training and experience).

Demonstrated interpersonal, communication (verbal and written), attention to detail, and organizational skills.

A high level of computer proficiency. This includes but is not limited to strong experience with Office 365 applications and other productivity tools.

Demonstrated initiative with the proven ability to work in a team environment, and to work independently, make sound decisions, and solve problems.

Demonstrated commitment to meeting student and other stakeholder needs, maintaining a positive and professional outlook.
