Industrial Millwright

Atlantic Operations is a wholly owned subsidiary of St Barbara Limited, an ASX listed gold producer and explorer with mining assets in Canada and Australia.

We are currently seeking 6 Industrial Millwrights to support our Atlantic Operations. These roles are full time, max-term positions, reporting to the Mill Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor and will be based at our Touquoy mine site located approximately 1-hour northeast of Halifax, near Middle Musquodoboit, Nova Scotia.

The Opportunity:

• Ensuring own Health & Safety as well as that of all other workers; identifying and maintaining safe work practices and completing all required safety training.
• Promoting and fostering company goals and objectives with all maintenance activities.
• Using tools to commission, diagnose, and repair equipment.
• Providing input to develop safe work procedures.
• Providing input into maintenance planning for mechanical work.
• Inspecting, maintaining, and repairing equipment for proper performance and safety compliance.
• Diagnosing faults and malfunctions.
• Managing effective use of available resources, including own time, in support of the delivery of the Mill Maintenance team.
• Contributing to an effective team.
• Ensuring own work performance meets all role requirements; and taking appropriate professional development actions.

Our successful candidate will demonstrate the following:

• Unencumbered Class 5 driver's license.
• Licensed as a Red Seal Millwright
• Committed to continuous improvement and reliability-centered maintenance
• Prepared to discuss complex problems and solutions in a team environment
• Able to use a computer effectively, automated maintenance programs and Microsoft Office
• Ability to think critically about problems and to select the right tool to complete the task
• A personal commitment to behaviour consistent with St Barbara's Values including honesty and integrity, respect, working together, delivering to promise and striving to do better.
• Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers and supervisors to ensure that projects are completed properly.
• Familiarity with conveyors, crushers and grinding mills is desired
• Previous experience in a mineral processing mill, industrial plant or similar is an asset.
