About the Lower Deck
A Halifax institution since 1974, The Lower Deck is the city’s original home of East Coast music, cold pints, and good times on the waterfront. With live music, hearty pub fare, and a come-as-you-are spirit, it remains a cornerstone of local culture and hospitality for visitors and regulars alike. The Lower Deck is currently seeking a Seasonal Cook who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in preparing delicious comfort food.
What you will be doing:
- prepping food items for service
- preparing food to order
- maintaining a clean work area
- preparing food according to standardized recipes and menu specifications
- adjusting cooking methods based on customer preferences or dietary restrictions
- collaborating with the team to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- completing all mandatory food hygiene and safety training that must be kept up to date
- such other similar or related duties as may be required from time to time.
The person we’re looking for has:
- a passion for food and a minimum of 1-2 years of similar work experience;
- the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and environment;
- strong organizational skills and a great attention to detail;
- the ability to prioritize;
- a food safe certification.
