Job Description
We are currently looking for a DED Supervisor. Reporting to the DED Superintendent/OIM and or Captain, this position is based on-board our fleet of vessels and provides an excellent working environment, opportunity for growth and learning, a complete benefits package as well as an attractive compensation package that matches the experience of the chosen candidate.
Responsibilities
The Deck Engine Driver (DED) Supervisor works by shift during operations and is responsible for the coordination and driving of all cable laying operations following OIM’s instructions. The DED Supervisor is responsible for:
Full understanding and execution of the cable engine operations as instructed by the OIM or his deputy
Maintenance (preventative and corrective) of cable equipment according to manufacturer specification in order to minimize equipment downtime during operations Ensuring maintenance records are maintained Ensuring all welding is conducted according to best practices, company procedures and local regulations are complied with Supervising DED / Fitters Requisitions of all spares and consumables Organizing crew practice in order to maintain a high level of performance Implementing HSE at the team level According to rank, understanding international and national regulations, codes and guidelines
Qualifications
Previous experience as DED on cable laying vessels.
Marine Medical, STCW Basic Safety Training, Seaman's Book, Basic First Aid
Experience
Experience with similar cable engine machinery
Experience / training as engineer, specifically with hydraulic systems Experience with various type of welding processes and best practices
