Who We Are
Virtual Hallway is changing the way Canadian healthcare is delivered by making collaboration between frontline clinicians and their specialist peers seamless and immediate. We've built a thriving platform connecting over 10,000+ clinicians who rely on our digital tools to improve patient care, alongside the largest accredited and fastest-growing medical education programs in the country. Our CME lectures, POEMs, and the Saturday Edition newsletter reach thousands of clinicians across all provinces and territories every week.
About the role
We are looking for someone to own the marketing of our education program. You will be the person who helps grow Virtual Hallway as the place Canadian clinicians go to learn, and the place medical education partners go to reach them. Over time, you become our resident expert on continuing medical education and know what messaging truly resonates with clinicians. We want someone who looks past what we do today. What we are running now is a starting point, not a ceiling. You should be the person spotting the channel we have not tried, the format we have not built, and the audience we have not reached yet. You care about the craft of marketing and the clinicians on the other side of it. You love the moment when the right idea, the right timing, and a clear message line up to actually impact how a clinician practices and learns.
What you will own
The education engine. CME lecture promotion, POEMs, clinical briefs and the Saturday Edition newsletter are yours to run week in and week out. You will write and shape content clinicians actually want to engage with, and grow the audience for it. Email is our biggest promotional lever by far. This is a writing and communications-heavy role. The expertise. Over time, you become VH's true expert on continuing medical education: how it works across provinces and professions, and above all what actually resonates with clinicians. That expertise is what lets you support why stakeholders should view Virtual Hallway as the leader in medical education. You will turn that understanding into thought leadership that positions us as the destination for clinician education. The systems behind it. You own the marketing machinery that makes the education program run: our email platform, CME audience segmentation, campaign builds, and the reporting that tells us what is working for our education program. You are comfortable setting up a send, building an automated flow, launching a paid campaign, and measuring it. A true doer, rather than routing every task through someone else. The audience, and the data behind it. Continuing education and CME credit rules change by province and by profession. You will know them for physicians, nurse practitioners, and pharmacists, or be ready to learn them quickly. You will also get to know the clinicians who come to us for education: who they are, why they are here, and what brings them back. You can pull the data yourself, interpret it honestly, and act on it. The partnerships. You will work closely with the CME team and help build their sales collateral. You will support partnerships across the space, keep an eye on competitors, and represent VH at conferences. And because Virtual Hallway is out to turn learners into power users, you will work alongside the Senior Marketing Manager, Business Development, and Product teams to help education users go deeper and discover everything Virtual Hallway has to offer.
What you bring
You have 5+ years in marketing, ideally content, growth, or lifecycle. Healthcare, health tech, pharma, or med ed experience is a strong plus. You write and tell stories exceptionally well, and you can shift from a clinician-facing newsletter to a partner-facing pitch without losing the thread. You are hands-on with an email platform such as Klaviyo or HubSpot. You can build a campaign, segment an audience, set up an automated flow, and A/B test the send yourself. You are fluent in the numbers. Open rate, click-to-open, activation, conversion: you know which metric answers the question in front of you, and you can build the report or dashboard to track it. You run paid campaigns end to end, from audience and creative through budget and optimization, on platforms like LinkedIn Campaign Manager. You are handy in Canva (or a similar design tool) and can turn out a clean social graphic, one-pager, or deck without waiting on a designer. You can edit video. Nothing cinematic, but you can clean up a recorded CME lecture and cut it into short, polished clips for promotional use across email and social. You design and read experiments. You form a hypothesis, ship the A/B test, and let the data settle it rather than your gut. You have built partnerships and made cross-team work feel easy. Bonus: you know the Canadian healthcare landscape, or you are driven to master it quickly.
Who thrives here
You are built for a startup. You are comfortable with ambiguity, you move fast, and you are happy wearing several hats at once. You look beyond the current playbook, bringing new ideas rather than waiting for them. You are adaptable and self-directed. You are a great communicator and collaborator. You continuously want to learn. You give feedback well and take it gracefully. You are genuinely great to work with.
Nice to have
A clinical or healthcare background, or real fluency in how clinicians think and work. Direct pharma marketing experience. A bachelor's degree in marketing, public relations, or communications, or equivalent work experience.
The Way We Work
In-office, with room to breathe. We work in person from our Halifax office, with two work-from-home days each month. Time when you need it. Dedicated sick days plus allotted annual time for appointments, so life outside work does not eat into your vacation. A small team with a big mandate. You will have real impact with your work, working in a fast pace environment the celebrates feedback, collaboration, and share curiosity for growth amongst the team. Purpose you can feel. Virtual Hallway was built by clinicians for clinicians, connecting everything you do back to bettering Canadian healthcare.
