##Job Information
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Acute Care provides independent, 24 hour nursing care for adult and pediatric patients requiring medical and nursing treatment. Working within professional standards, guidelines, and scope of practice, the LPN delivers safe, ethical, and patient centred care in a dynamic acute care environment.
This role is ideal for an LPN who is adaptable, compassionate, and committed to high quality care across a range of predictable and complex clinical situations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide independent, patient centred nursing care to adult and pediatric patients requiring 24 hour acute care.
- Assess, plan, implement, document, and evaluate care using a holistic, problem solving approach.
- Support patients through illness, injury, recovery, and end of life care.
- Advocate for patient dignity, autonomy, privacy, and equitable access to care.
- Deliver patient and family education related to treatment, self care, and discharge planning.
- Coordinate admissions, transfers, and discharges in collaboration with the health care team.
- Communicate effectively with nurses, physicians, and allied health professionals to ensure continuity of care.
- Participate in emergency and disaster response as required.
- Support a safe, ethical, and collaborative practice environment, including mentoring and orienting new staff.
Key Qualifications
- A Licensed Practical Nurse Diploma
AND

Two (2) years recent experience in an acute care setting.
