About the role
The Department of Physical Sciences at Thompson Rivers University (TRU) invites applications for a tripartite tenure-track faculty position in Analytical Chemistry at the rank of Assistant Professor to commence July 1, 2026. TRU offers B.Sc. degrees with Canadian Society for Chemistry accredited Majors in Chemistry and Environmental Chemistry. TRU also offers an interdisciplinary Major in Chemical Biology. The successful candidate will teach analytical lectures and labs at all undergraduate levels and could teach first-year general chemistry lectures and second-year physical chemistry lectures and labs not currently covered by faculty. Candidates should show a commitment to excellence in teaching and research with undergraduate students, as well as experience in undergraduate curriculum development.
Candidates must have a strong background in analytical chemistry including instrumentation experience and have a well-developed program of research/scholarship.
QUALIFICATIONS

Ph.D. in Chemistry (or completed before the position start date of July 1, 2026).

Established teaching experience at the post-secondary level is an asset.

Analytical instrumentation experience is required.

Evidence of a program of scholarship/research.

Current external funding or demonstrate the potential to acquire if an early career researcher.

Postdoctoral experience is an asset.
