About the role
Norpac is looking for a senior professional who understands how business is built in the heavy civil and geotechnical world. This role focuses on developing long-term relationships, identifying opportunities early, and helping shape work that aligns with our capabilities in drilling, limited access work, shotcrete, grouting, slope stabilization, and concrete repair. The person in this role will work closely with operations, estimating, and engineering to support growth across Western Canada.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop a practical, long-term plan for growing Norpac’s presence with target clients in infrastructure, mining, power, and major contractors.
- Maintain ongoing contact with project owners, consultants, and contractors to understand upcoming programs and future needs.
- Identify opportunities that are a strong fit for Norpac’s technical strengths and lead internal discussions about pursuit strategies.
- Attend client meetings, pre-construction discussions, and site assessments to represent Norpac and gather project intelligence.
- Work directly with estimating and engineering teams to prepare clear, competitive proposals and support technical submissions.
- Track market developments, regulatory changes, and industry activity that may influence future work pipelines.
- Provide regular updates on active pursuits, proposal status, and long-range forecasting.
- Support the development of pricing structures and commercial terms that align with margin expectations and project risk.
- Help resolve client concerns or project-related issues by coordinating with project managers and field teams.
- Look for opportunities to expand Norpac’s involvement on existing projects through additional services or follow-on work.
Requirements
· Degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field (preferred).
· A minimum of 8 years of experience in construction, engineering, or technical account management.
· Experience working on projects involving geotechnical, drilling, slope stabilization, or heavy civil components.
· Ability to work effectively with internal teams at all levels and influence outcomes without direct authority.
· Strong understanding of commercial terms, contract structures, and risk evaluation.
· Familiarity with geohazards or challenging terrain environments.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Detailed knowledge of geotechnical construction or specialty contracting.
· Strong client-facing communication skills and the ability to explain technical topics in a straightforward manner.
· Ability to manage several parallel pursuits and deadlines in a fast-moving environment.
· Self-directed, comfortable operating with limited oversight, and able to create structure in ambiguous situations.
· Experience using CRM systems.
· P.Eng. registration is an asset but not required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & EXPECTATIONS
- Role requires regular site visits, including walking steep, uneven ground and participating in field assessments.
- Western Canada–based candidates preferred, with travel to client sites across BC and Alberta.
- Regional travel of approximately 30 to 40 percent should be expected.
Benefits
-
Comprehensive extended health benefits, including life insurance and long-term disability coverage.
