Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced teacher to contribute to our Arts programming. Teaching experience at the Grade 6 - 12 level in Drama and Theatre Arts and/ or Visual Arts and experience teaching English Language Arts would be an asset.
Our teachers make decisions of considerable consequence in determining how best to aid students in the learning process. The functional role of this position requires teaching, learning, mentorship, collaboration, assessing, evaluating, and supporting the students and the school.
Success Factors

Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution with a focus on Theatre or Visual Arts and/or English Language Arts

Bachelor of Education and a BC Teacher’s Certification (or equivalent)

Experience in an Independent School (asset)

Computer Skills: Google Classroom, Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Gmail

Known to model the highest standards of professional practice and interactions with all stakeholders

Ability to understand the importance of emotional intelligence and empathy in building trust and contributing to a positive working atmosphere across the School community

Known to communicate, negotiate, collaborate, and build partnerships effectively
