About the role

**SUMMER STUDENT WORKERS (Multiple Positions) ******
Full-time, temporary positions, 8 hours per day, are available to students for summer employment, effective July 1, 2026, until August 31, 2026. The terms and conditions of the IUOE Collective Agreement shall apply. Rate of pay is according to schedule.
**Job Summary: ******
The student labourer will be responsible to assist current employees in the Operations Department with several summer projects.
**Job Duties: ******
- Assists employees with maintenance projects; may include painting.
- Assists with maintaining playing fields and grounds as required.
- Operates district vehicles, if required.
- May work with small gasoline engines and power washing equipment.
- Works outdoors in inclement weather.
- Practices all applicable School District and WCB safety policies.
- Works with and under the supervision of a tradesperson as assigned.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or required.
**Job Requirements: ******
- Preference will be given to students currently in post–secondary studies or who will be completing grade 12 and who will be attending post-secondary education in September.
- Must be physically able to perform the duties of the position.
- Must demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with others both verbally and in writing.
- Must be aware of and follow safety procedures.
- Must exercise discretion and confidentiality in dealing with all matter pertaining to students and staff.
- Must have valid driver's license or “N” and provide a driver's abstract.
