OECTA - 9063
Position: Coordinator of Online Education - Summer Session
Location: Virtual: Online Learning
Salary: Continuing Education Rate ($48.89 hourly)
FTE: 6 hours per day
Effective: June 29, 2026 - August 7, 2026 (excluding July 1st, 2026)
Summary:
During the summer session, the Coordinator will facilitate the online summer program by:
- Supporting online teachers and students;
- Registering and withdrawing student enrolments, as required;
- Editing course content information as requested by online learning teachers, as required;
- Coordinating dates and marks for students, guidance counselors and home schools;
- Posting weekly messages on the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) to keep students and teachers informed about important dates;
- Collecting and recording final marks for all students and send to the guidance counselors at each home school;
- Processing report cards and updating OUAC and OCAS as required;
- Informing Continuing Education Secretary of withdraws and additions, as required.
Qualifications:
- Valid Ontario College of Teacher Certificate – Intermediate/Senior;
- Guidance Part 1 would be an asset;
- Cooperative Education Part I would be an asset;
- Religious Education Part I;
- Demonstrated leadership and expertise in the planning and delivery of teacher professional development;
- Knowledge of Online Learning best practices and pedagogy;
- Experience teaching online courses;
- Knowledge of the content and structure of the credit courses available;
- A strong background in and comfort with technology (e.g. a comfort with HTML would be an asset);
- Thorough knowledge of the VLE would be an asset;
- Knowledge of reservation system.
