Education
This position is located at the Kingstec Campus in Kentville and reports to the Principal of the Valley Region. As the Academic Chair for the School of Health and Human Services and the School of Access, Business, Creative Industries, and Education you will:
Lead the delivery of various programs in Health and Human Services and Access, Business, Creative Industries, and Education ensuring the highest standard of quality and consistency in programing while supporting student success. Be a key member of the Kingstec Campus management team, the School of Health and Human Services team, and the School of Access, Business, Creative Industries, and Education team. Campuses and Academic Schools share accountability for ensuring a quality-learning environment and a cohesive campus team. Use your established relationships in health and human services related sectors and adult education locally and regionally to inform programming and opportunities for students.
Your strategic and operational leadership is key to ensuring the objectives of programs offered by NSCC are met through efficient and effective management of all fiscal and human resources, while endorsing the application of adult education principles within a safe work environment, in a learning-centered college.
The current portfolio includes approximately 20 direct staff reports and approximately 225 students (full-time & part-time). Current programming responsibilities include:

Continuing Care Disability Support Professional Practical Nursing Social Services
School of Access, Business, Creative Industries, and Education
Early Childhood Education

Qualifications
Qualifications and Occupational Experience:
The minimum educational qualification for this position is an undergraduate degree in a field related to the School of Health and Human Services. A Graduate Degree would be considered an asset. You have a minimum of 7 years (full-time equivalent) of recent and progressive occupational experience in a field related to the School(s) You have a minimum of 5 years' experience in a formal supervisory, management or leadership role. Leadership in a post-secondary environment that includes supervising faculty would be considered an asset. Teaching experience, particularly at a post-secondary level would also be desirable. Occupational experience that includes managing in a unionized environment would be considered an asset. You have experience managing budgets. You are familiar with and comfortable using computer applications such as the Microsoft Office Suite, E-mail, Brightspace, or ERP. You are comfortable working in a digital environment; you take responsibility for acquiring knowledge about advancing technology; and you are committed to using technology to create an exceptional student experience. You have experience in training/facilitation preparation, delivery, and evaluation.
