We are hiring an Assistant Kitchen Manager for our Kingpin Boston Pizza Kitchener location

What will you be doing?

• Assist in managing daily kitchen operations to ensure efficient food preparation and service.
• Supervise and support cooks, prep cooks, dishwashers, and other kitchen staff.
• Ensure all food is prepared according to recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines.
• Maintain compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
• Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering food, supplies, and equipment.
• Help control food and labor costs by minimizing waste and improving productivity.
• Assist with receiving and inspecting deliveries for quality and accuracy.
• Train, coach, and mentor kitchen team members.
• Create staff schedules and assist with shift planning as directed.
• Ensure kitchen equipment is properly maintained and report repair needs.
• Address operational issues and support problem-solving during service.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment.
• Assist with menu implementation, recipe updates, and special events as needed.
• Step into the Kitchen Manager's role during absences.

What we're looking for?

• 2–5 years of experience in a commercial kitchen, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role preferred.
• Knowledge of food preparation techniques, inventory management, and kitchen operations.
• Understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Food Handler Certification (required or obtained within a specified timeframe).
