About the role
The Building Maintenance Technician performs routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections of building systems and equipment. The role ensures that the property maintains clean, safe, and fully operational. This position is a live in position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preform general maintenance and repairs (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, etc.)
- Inspects building systems (heating, ventilation, air conditioning, lighting, etc.)
- Respond to maintenance requests from tenants
- Troubleshoot and fix issues such as leaks, broken fixtures, etc.
- Conduct preventative maintenance to avoid future problems
- Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance logs
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes
- Coordinate with contractors for specialized repairs when needed
- Preform seasonal tasks such as snow removal and landscaping support
Requirements
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely
- Time management and ability to prioritize tasks
- Strong communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in building maintenance
- Certification in HVAC, electrical, or building systems is an asset
- Valid drivers license in good standing
