About the position: Working 12-hour shifts, some Overtime may be required. This position is responsible for the provision of general house-keeping duties in the home. The main goal is to ensure that home meets health Safety Standards and Occupational Safety Standards.
Duties:
- Sweep and mop floor and damp mop the main entrance or other soiled areas as necessary;
- Clean and sanitize all washrooms, including sink, shower, tub, toilet, and door handles;
- Restock washroom faculties such as tissue, soaps, etc;
- Strips beds and wipe down, make beds using fresh linen, wash all bedding;
- Clean the snow and ice from all sidewalks, stairs, ramps, entrances, exits, and use salt (if necessary) to ensure safe and easy access to facilities;
- Keeping exiting hallways and exit doors free of clutter and flammable material (s);
Qualifications:
- Minimum Grade 10; Pervious Housekeeper experience is an asset;
- Certification in WHIMIS and First Aide & CPR is an asset (or willing to obtain);
- Willing to learn new skills and take further training as required;
- Must be able to work independently, self-directed and demonstrate organizational skills;
- Basic Computer Skills;
- Experience working with First Nations communities is an asset;
- Ability to speak/understand Cree and knowledge of the Cree Culture is an asset;
