About the role

We are looking for a 3rd Class Stationary Engineer, to conduct both maintenance and operating activities in multiple, high-pressure plants. The work schedule is 7 days on, 7 days off (days and nights), based in Labrador City, NL.

This is a great opportunity for a safety-oriented and mechanically-skilled individual, to grow their career in a global mining company.

Reporting to the Supervisor – Heat, Steam & Air, and working in this unique role within the Iron Ore Company of Canada in Labrador City, you will be:

• Working safely in accordance with Rio Tinto safety standards – actively participating, and engaging in safety initiatives promoting our “Zero harm” safety culture
• Receiving direction from the Supervisor to safety operate the plants
• Operating and conducting maintenance on various pumps, heat exchangers, boilers, compressors and vacuum pumps
• Performing standard tests on boilers, checking valves and gages for levels, temperatures and pressures
• Taking readings of all operating equipment, performing calculations, recording in logs and preparing other reports
