Reports to the Carpenter Foreman/Leadhand, and installs, maintains and repairs

glazing in the school district buildings.

POSTING DETAILS

• Position - Glazier
• Start Date - As soon as possible
• Employment - Continuing, full-time (40 hours/week)
• Hours -**** Monday to Friday (7:30am to 4:00pm)

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Cuts, prepares, edges, fabricates and installs all types of glass and mirrors.
• Prepares work order estimates of time and materials.Installs, maintains and/or repairs screens.
• Measures and orders replacement sealed glazing units.
• Orders and maintains an adequate supply of stock.
• Assists with carpentry duties as required.
• Operates tools and equipment of the trade.
• Respond to emergency situations as requested.
• Inspects (daily) and operates a service vehicle.
• Performs other assigned comparable duties which are within the scope of knowledge,
• Skills and abilities required by this class specification.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Completion of Grade 12.
• Apprenticeship and/or Trades Qualification Certificate (Glazier).
• B.C. Driver's License.
• Ability to perform a variety of skilled tasks in the installation and maintenance of glass and mirrors.
• Thorough and current knowledge of the standards, practices, regulations, methods, tools and equipment of the trade.
• Ability to communicate effectively using courtesy and tact in the explanation and exchange of information.
• Ability to determine, judge and select appropriate course of action within limits of established methods and procedures.
• Skill in the use of tools of the trade.
• Physical ability to perform the required duties.
