About the role
Triple M Housing, a division of ATCO Structures and western Canada’s largest manufacturer of modular residential homes, is seeking an experienced and detail‑oriented Production Superintendent-Plumbing to lead all plumbing, mechanical, and gas fitting operations within our modular home manufacturing facility. This leadership position ensures code compliance, oversees two lead hands across two shifts, and works closely with design, procurement, inspections, and customer service teams to deliver high‑quality modular products.
The ideal candidate is a certified Journeyman Plumber with strong supervisory skills, excellent code knowledge, and a practical, solutions‑focused leadership style. Experience with gas fitting and HVAC systems is highly valued.
Key Responsibilities Leadership & Supervision
- Oversee and support two plumbing leadhands operating across two shifts.
- Provide technical guidance, coaching, and performance support to plumbing and mechanical staff.
- Ensure consistent installation quality, workflow efficiency, and adherence to production schedules.
Code Compliance & Quality Assurance

Ensure all plumbing, mechanical, and gas installation comply with:

National Plumbing Code of Canada

Alberta Building and Gas Codes
-
CSA modular home standards
-
Internal manufacturing quality requirements

Conduct and document rough‑in and final online plumbing/mechanical inspections.

Identify installation deficiencies and coordinate corrective actions.

Keep up to date with current plumbing codes as changes to the codes are made
Design Collaboration
-
Work closely with Pre‑Design, Engineering, and Production to:

Review and approve plumbing, mechanical, and gas layout drawings.

Provide input on flow, routing, venting, heating, and mechanical design efficiency.

Suggest design improvements that enhance manufacturability and long‑term reliability.
Procurement & Material Support
- Assist Procurement in selecting, sourcing, and ordering plumbing, mechanical, gas, and HVAC components.
- Provide recommendations on preferred products, compatibility, and code‑required materials.
- Support inventory reviews and material forecasting to prevent shortages.
Product & Warranty Support
- Collaborate with the Product Support Manager to address plumbing- and mechanical‑related warranty claims.
- Review service reports, help diagnose issues, and outline necessary repair actions.
- Participate in root‑cause analysis for recurring field problems and contribute to long‑term product improvements.
- Assist in customer‑facing technical conversations when required
Documentation & Inspections
- Complete digital rough‑in and final inspection documentation.
- Maintain accurate records for CSA, internal audits, and regulatory reviews.
- Track and follow up on deficiencies to ensure timely closure.
Qualifications
- Journeyman Plumber certification (Alberta or Red Seal Preferred)
- Gas Fitter A or B certification strong asset.
- HVAC or mechanical system experience strong asset.
- 4–7+ years of experience in plumbing, mechanical, or gas fitting; modular or residential construction experience preferred.
- Supervisory or lead-hand experience required; superintendent-level experience an asset.
- Strong understanding of Alberta plumbing, building, and gas codes.
- Ability to read and interpret plumbing and mechanical schematics and blueprints.
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem‑solving abilities.
- Comfortable with digital tools for inspections and documentation
