General Stewart serves approximately 100 students from Kindergarten to Grade 5 with one class at each grade level. The size of our school is also one of its biggest assets as it allows us to get to know each other very well and very quickly. Subjects

General Stewart Elementary School is seeking a Grade 3 Homeroom and Music teacher to join their team The successful candidate will be expected to teach Grade 3 students and students from Kindergarten to Grade 5 in Music. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong foundation in student support and hold an unwavering belief that every child is a capable learner and will have:

• Educational background in Music (preferred)
• Strong understanding of literacy and numeracy;
• Previous experience teaching elementary music (preferred);
• An understanding inclusive and restorative teaching practices;
• An understanding of music curriculum implementation;
• The ability to create and develop strong relationships and connections with students, staff and parents;
• A passion to work collaboratively with a team, creating and supporting an inclusive learning environment;
• A willingness to be involved in Fine Arts Extra Curricular activities;
• Previous experience teaching Elementary Music (considered an asset).

Requirements

• Applicants must possess or be eligible to obtain an Alberta Teaching Certificate.

Conditions of Employment

In order to ensure and maintain a safe and secure working and learning environment, applicants new to Lethbridge School

Division who are offered employment must provide:

• A police information check; including Vulnerable Sector Check from Police Services or an RCMP detachment that does not have any charges or convictions.
• A satisfactory Intervention Record Check from South Region Alberta Child and Family Services.
• Proof of photo identification, may be a valid driver’s licence, provincial identification card as issued by a licensed government registry office, valid passport or Nexus card. If one cannot be provided, a new card must be obtained and proof of application provided within three days of hire.
• Documentation of a valid Social Insurance Number in the employee’s legal name. If valid Social Insurance documentation in the current legal name can not be provided, the successful candidate will be required to obtain a new one within three days of hire.
