The Front Desk Supervisor at The Jordan Hotel oversees daily front desk operations during assigned shifts, ensuring efficient service, guest satisfaction, and adherence to company standards. This role supports the management team by supervising team members, resolving guest issues, and maintaining smooth workflow at the front desk.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise front desk staff during assigned shifts, including scheduling breaks and task delegation
- Ensure prompt, professional guest check-in and check-out experiences
- Handle guest inquiries, complaints, and service recovery in a timely manner escalating issues to management when required and assist in implementing resolutions and following up with guests.
- Train, coach, and support front desk agents to maintain service standards
- Monitor daily operations, including reservations, room assignments, and billing accuracy
- Assist with onboarding and ongoing training of new team members
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety standards
- Assist with monitoring third-party booking sites and responding to inquiries or reviews as directed.
- Coordinate with housekeeping, maintenance, and other departments to support operations
- Assist with group bookings by coordinating room blocks and tracking availability.
- Prepare shift reports and communicate updates to management
- Step in to perform front desk duties during busy periods or staff shortages
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (post-secondary education in hospitality is an asset)
- 1–3 years of front desk or customer service experience, preferably in hospitality
- Previous supervisory or team lead experience preferred
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to multitask and remain composed in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with reservation or property management systems is an asset
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holiday
