Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable GL Accountant to cover a maternity leave. This role is responsible for managing the full-cycle accounting process, including month-end close, financial reporting, and payment processing. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, organized, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform full-cycle accounting, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
• Support month-end and quarter-end closing processes
• Prepare and analyze financial reports, including margin and operational reporting
• Manage commission calculations and coordinate related payments
• Process vendor payments and oversee regular payment cycles
• Perform bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
• Prepare and file indirect tax returns (e.g., HST) and other regulatory reports
• Maintain cash flow forecasts
• Support fixed asset accounting and other periodic reporting
• Collaborate with internal teams (sales, operations, warehouse) to ensure accurate financial data

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 1+ years of full-cycle accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and month-end processes
• Experience with bank reconciliations, accruals, and financial reporting
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP)
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite) is an asset
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing or distribution environment
• Familiarity with Canadian tax regulations (HST, WSIB, etc.)
• Mandarin Chinese language skills are preferred
