The Driver interacts with Parents, Teachers, and other School Board personnel. Duties and Responsibilities: Pick up passengers at pre-determined locations Exhibits the highest ethical best practices and personal integrity; Shares concerns about suspicious or inappropriate behavior with their supervisor or manager Report to work on time and operate route in a safe manner Conduct pre-trip inspections daily, using Company tools and swipe technology Practice defensive driving at all times, and proactively avoid accidents by practicing safe driving and work habits Lift and close bus doors daily, and assist passengers who are boarding and exiting the bus Evacuate bus in emergency situations and physically assist passengers to evacuate Refill fuel and washer fluid in assigned vehicle when necessary, before picking up passengers Manage student behaviour by exercising communication and discipline as per Company policies, and report student discipline issues to the school and to the Company immediately Report all accidents, incidents, and major or minor defects, to office immediately Complete all required paperwork, including route change sheets, time cards, vehicle repair requests, in a timely manner Deliver vehicle to office for repairs, preventative maintenance inspections, and repairs Contact parents of passengers if instructed to by the Company Attend all Company Safety Meetings Adhere to Company standards in the operation of Company vehicles and customer service Follow all Company policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook, as well as local Customer Service Center work directions and instructions Perform other tasks as assigned by the Company Benefits Training is provided at no cost to you Extra hours available Safety Meetings / Employee Engagement events No evenings or weekends Enjoy a very rewarding career What you bring to the bus: Cheerful and positive demeanor, with a “can-do” approach At least two years driving experience with a current driver’s abstract Clear criminal background check Your willingness to make a difference in a child’s day every day Join our collaborative and supportive Team today! Requirements: Must be at least 21 years of age. Must possess, or be able to obtain, a valid Class 5 Alberta Driver’s License or Higher. Must have a clean Drivers Abstract, clear Criminal Background check and Vulnerable Sector Screening Test.
