About the role
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement the Inspection and Test Plans throughout all phases of fabrication and assembly.
- Verify material, and consumable MTR’s to ASME Section II and project specifications.
- Verify welder qualifications and maintain records, welder logs and continuity logs.
- Monitor welding of structural and pressure piping in accordance with the approved WPS.
- Record weld locations, material traceability and non-destructive testing.
- Coordinate NDE of components and assemblies with qualified NDT Providers.
- Review radiography film and verify NDE reports for accuracy.
- Build hydro test packages and witness pressure testing.
- Witness and verify bolt up for construction and assembly.
- Complete turnover package for all associated quality control documentation.
Qualifications:
- CSA W178.2 Level 1 Welding inspection
- Knowledge of ASME BPVC Section II and V, ASME B31.3, and CSA W47/W59 codes and standards
- Welding Engineering Technology Diploma and/or Journeyman
- 3 or more years of QC Inspection experience related to Field Construction Projects in the oil & gas sector; also Shop QC inspection is an asset.
- Experience with mechanical construction activities associated with pressure piping fabrication, testing, structural welding, assembly, and torquing.
- Experience with inspection and traceability activities associated with the fabrication, testing of piping systems and structural welding.
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply, codes, standards, specifications, and drawings.
- Possesses good working knowledge of NDE methods.
- Computer knowledge with Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook,).
Common shifts consist of a 14-and-7-day schedule, 10-hour days with competitive compensation including Living Out Allowance (LOA) & Benefits.
