We are currently recruiting in our Waterloo facility for: Machine Operator

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Machine Operator is responsible for the efficient operation of processing line equipment, ensuring a smooth and consistent flow of raw and finished materials to and from the processing areas while maintaining compliance with all standards, including production, quality and safety.

• Ensure proper room and equipment set up for production run by using Product Flows and Set Sheets/Maps
• Complete equipment pre use inspections
• Safe and efficient Process Equipment Operation
• Preventative maintenance and trouble shooting including belt repairs, adjustments, greasing and report mechanical issues as required.
• Assist with change over and tear down process, including empty equipment, unload inedible, remove garbage and cardboard and disassemble machinery
• Testing and calibrating equipment as required
• Help ensure product integrity by completing quality checks and knowledge of sensory expectations
• Understand and perform Quality Control based checks on line and on machines to ensure adherence to customer specifications
• Other projects or assignments as directed by supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS:

Strong communication both verbally and written format

• Basic Math and Computer Skills
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 Kgs.
• Ability to work in and support a team environment
• Strong interpersonal skills with the proven ability to build cooperative relationships
• Ability to work well under pressure and prioritize tasks
• Attention to detail and the ability to understand and follow procedure and documentation
• Ability to maintain a forklift license
• Experience with food safety and HACCP principles
• Proven performance record including attendance.
